SATRA Officers and Contacts
-
- SATRA's member base is primarily from the Central New York area. The
club has members as far north as Oswego County and as far south as Tioga
County. There are even some out of state members! Any person as young as
PeeWee or as old as Super Senior, from novice to expert, is welcome to
join. SATRA offers family rates to include the whole family. In fact,
SATRA encourages family involvement at our rides especially with the
annual picnic.
-
- SATRA has ride dates for motocross riders as well as hare scramble
and trail riders. SATRA offers a complete schedule of motocross and
trail rides beginning in April and winding down in late October.
-
-
- Our club rides are for fun and are meant to help us improve our
riding in a non-competitive environment. Rides are normally scheduled
Saturdays from 11 AM - 5 PM, Sundays from 10 AM - 4 PM and Wednesday
evenings from 5-9 PM. SATRA encourages riders to come anytime during
riding hours and to ride at your own pace. Always check the hotline
before leaving for a scheduled event! Riders must have adequate
protective gear and ride in a safe manner.
-
- Only the best tracks and trails on the planet! Does
Unadilla Valley
Sports Center,
Broome-Tioga or
Thunder-Ridge Cycle Park sound
familiar? SATRA rides these tracks and other practice tracks as well.
There are also private tracks which are as good as the district tracks giving a variety of riding.
-
- SATRA gives every member the opportunity to give their input on
events and political issues. Every December, elections are held to vote
in officers for the following year. Monthly meetings are held on the
first Monday of every other month (except holidays) from 7:00 PM to 9:00
PM at the Fayetteville Village Hall. SATRA encourages all existing members
to attend as well as anybody who may be interested in joining the club.
It is a good opportunity to see what SATRA is all about. These meetings
are where decisions are made which determine rules, ride dates and the
direction of the club's future. Check the newsletter (posted on this
site) for the date of the next meeting.
Directions From Syracuse:
Route 690 East to the Dewitt - Route 5 East exit (Genesee Street). Bear
left at Lyndon Corners to stay on Route 5 East. The old Fayetteville
Mall will be on the left a few miles down. Go through the next two
traffic lights. The Town Hall is on the left just before the traffic
light. If you go through the light and pass Friendly's to your left,
then you've gone too far!
Directions From Utica:
Route 5 West to Fayetteville. Pass Friendly's which will be to the
right. Go through the traffic light and the Town Hall is on the right
next to the fire station.
There is parking behind the Village Hall and fire station. The meeting is
on the second floor of the Village Hall. Enter the front of the building
off of Route 5 and go up the stairs. If you're there a little early and
things look deserted, don't panic! Meetings have been known to start a
little late. Afterwards, we usually go next door to Hullar's to
socialize before heading home.
-
- SATRA flags the amateur event at Unadilla the weekend of the
Motocross Nationals. SATRA also flags the amateur events at Broome-Tioga. It is a great opportunity to be a part of
amateur and professional motocross action with the best seats in the
house!
