Syracuse Area Trail Riders Association (SATRA) Definitions
Revised / Mar 1 2010

Membership definitions: April 1st to March 31st (join after picnic, includes the following year)

1. Individual: any person 18 years of age minimum agrees to minimum SATRA work requirements. May attend any SATRA ride. Current Individual membership of $120.00.
2. Family: any person 18 years of age minimum, agrees to minimum SATRA work requirements, also includes spouse & children (son and/or daughter only) under the age of 18 years. Dependents age 18 to 21 included as well, each dependent age 18 to 21 agrees to minimum SATRA work requirements. May attend any SATRA ride. Current Family membership of $140.00.
3. Sustaining: any person 18 years of age minimum retains SATRA non-rider membership. May upgrade to Individual or Family membership during the year provided minimum SATRA work requirements are being met, difference of membership fee applies. Current Sustaining membership of $25.00.
4. Membership “timing”: Those joining immediately before Unadilla national in order to ride that track must flag one (1) day at that track before riding.
5. Non-working: any person 18 years of age minimum, work requirements are waived. You may join at any time and may attend any SATRA ride. April 1st to March 31st. Current Non-working membership of $295.00.

Work requirements (minimum): revised 10-4-2004, @ the October meeting

1. Three (3) work days minimum are required per each membership as described above in order to be in good standing with the club.
2. A minimum of two (2) work days of the minimum three (3) work days must be flagging days. The third work day (or more) can be any type of work day (as described below).

Work day definitions:

1. Flagging day: caution flagger at Unadilla and/or Broome-Tioga. Sign up in advance per SATRA Membership Application. Expected to be “in-position” on the track unless temporarily relieved or during normal breaks (after practice & before start of motos). All flaggers must be 18 years of age minimum. Counts as one (1) full work day towards work requirements.
2. Racer-flagging day: caution flagger at Unadilla and/or Broome-Tioga whom also enters to race a is limited to a maximum of one (1) class. Sign up in advance per notice in SATRA Membership Application (Notify intention of racing / Only 4 racer-flaggers per day). Expected to be “in-position” on the track unless 1. Riding practice, 2. Racing or 3.temporarily relieved or during normal breaks all flaggers must be 18 years of age minimum. Counts as one-half (1/2) of a work day towards work requirements.
3. Rider sign-in: responsible for ensuring ALL riders sign ALL emergency contact sheets & releases at the ride that day. Counts as one (1) full work day towards minimum work requirements. Sign-in sheets will be provided on site by a SATRA representative. The following are the responsibilities of the “rider sign in person(s)”:

	Arrive at ride 20 minutes before start of ride, supply sign-in area for clipboards
	SATRA emergency contact sheet, all must sign
	SATRA release sheet, all must sign, parent must sign beside minor Some locations have their own releases that must be completed before you ride:
	Location release sheets, all must sign (typically Thunder Ridge & Unadilla)
	Minor release sheets, all minors & parent/guardian must sign (typically Thunder Ridge & Unadilla)
	Enforcement of “Mini-Novice Ride Time”: 12:30–1:00 PM each ride, if 25% signed in are minors; we will then run it again @ 2:30-3:00.

4. Other miscellaneous work such as shopping for flagging supplies. Work value to be determined based upon work detail.

Non compliance with work day requirements

	Membership eligibility for the following season will be evaluated and decided upon by the officers, for failure to meet work day requirements. (Membership denial is possible)
	Reinstatement of membership may be accomplished only after completion of the following: - 2 flagging days at Unadilla are completed. - Dues are to be paid prior to this Unadilla commitment
	Reinstatement without penalty option: is to opt for the Non-Working membership ($295.00). This cancels out the denied membership and may be applied at the start of the ride season.
