membership work requirments

Two work days minimum are required per each membership as described below in order to be in good standing with the club. 
A minimum of two work days are required throughout the riding seseon and  one days is flagging day with the second work day can be any type of work day (as described below).

Flagging Day

Safety flagger at Unadilla and / or Broome-Tioga.  Sign up in advance per SATRA Membership Application.  Expected to be “in position” on the track unless temporarily relieved or during normal breaks (after practice & before start of motos).  All flaggers must be 18 years of age minimum.  Counts as one (1) full work day towards work requirements.​

Racer-Flagging Day

​Safety flagger at Unadilla and / or Broome-Tioga whom also enters to race and is limited to a maximum of one (1) class.  Sign up in advance per SATRA Membership Application (notify intention of racing / only 4 racer-flaggers per day).  Expected to be “in position” on the track unless you are:
Riding Practice or Racing.
Temporarily Relieved or During Normal Breaks.
All flaggers must be 18 years of age minimum.
Counts as one-half (1/2) of a work day towards work requirements

Rider Sign-In

Responsible for ensuring ALL riders sign ALL emergency contact sheets & releases at the ride that day.  Counts as one (1) full work day towards minimum work requirements.  Sign-in sheets will be provided on site by a SATRA representative.  The following are the responsibilities of the “rider sign-in person(s)”:
  • Arrive at the track 20 minutes before the start of the ride and establish a sign-in area for clipboards plan to stay the entire ride.
  • Verify that all riders have filled out the SATRA emergency contact sheet.
  • Verify that all riders have have signed the SATRA release sheet (parent must sign beside minor).
Some locations have their own releases that must be completed before you ride.  If applicable, verify that all riders have signed the location release sheet (typically Unadilla). For the minor release sheets, verify that all minors & parent / guardian have signed (typically Unadilla).

​Other miscellaneous work such as shopping for flagging supplies. 
The work "value" will be determined based upon the work detail.
  • Non-Compliance with Work Day Requirements
  • Membership eligibility for the following season will be evaluated and decided upon by the officers for failure to meet work day requirements.  Membership denial is possible.
  • Re-instatement of membership may be accomplished only after completion of the following:
  • Flagging days at Unadilla or Broome are completed.
  • Dues are to be paid prior to this Unadilla commitment
  • Re-instatement without penalty option is to sign up for the a non-working membership.  This cancels out the denied membership and may be applied at the start of the ride season.
